George R. Boyer (born c. 1954) is Professor of Labor Economics in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University. He is best known for his work in the field of economic history, and in particular his research on the English poor laws of the 18th and 19th centuries. ==Career==
Boyer received a B.A. in economics and history from the College of William and Mary in 1976 and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin in 1982.〔(George Boyer's Curriculum Vitae )〕 Boyer has been a faculty member in Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations since 1982.
